Video Stroller Reviews

One of our Baby Blog Addict readers pointed us in the direction of this helpful site. The video stroller reviews are categorized by brand name, type, number of seats and weight. You can also look them in sections: featured, most viewed, highest rated and most reviews. The videos are made and submitted by the product owners.

According to the website, "You can find a review on a double stroller or watch videos about baby strollers, jogging strollers and even lightweight strollers. You can even find product reviews on everything from Maclaren strollers to Bugaboo strollers to Graco strollers and more! We can even help you find the perfect umbrella stroller and the best stroller for the budget conscious."

Video: RickRolling the Baby

Seems Rick Astley has a nice calming affect. Who wouldn't settle down to listen to one of the great 80's artists? If you're curious about the term "RickRolling," here's some background. We didn't realize RickRolling was so popular.

Video: Baby Says

This was submitted to us by a sketch comedy group in New York City. One of their members has been pregnant and they decided to make a short comedy film about her baby communicating from within her tummy. Let us - and them - know what you think.

Baby Einstein's Parent-Child Interaction Campaign

We are thrilled to be part of Baby Einstein's Parent-Child Interaction Campaign. As a result we were given the opportunity to review the Baby Einstein Baby's First Moves DVD, thanks to Mom Central and The Baby Einstein Company. There's something about the Baby Einstein DVDs that is captivating, especially to little ones...but watch out, you may catch yourself captivated by them too.

Our household already had a few Baby Einstein DVDs that my son received when he was a baby, but Baby's First Moves wasn't one of them. This DVD does a great job showing clapping, dancing, jumping and taking first steps in a similar way to the other Baby Einstein DVDs -- with other babies, puppets and classical music -- all of which my son loves. Even though my son is already two, he still enjoyed this DVD and I'm sure he would have loved it when he was hitting those motor milestones from about 9-18 months.

I know that TV in general is controversial for children under two years old, but I agree with The Baby Einstein Company's stance that "they believe that when used properly, developmentally-appropriate video content can be a useful tool for parents and little ones to enjoy together."

Like many other parenting situations, it's what you make of it. If you consider the Baby Einstein DVDs tools to interact with your child, you will both get so much more out of them. Clap with your child, dance with them and jump with them. Ask them about the colors of the puppets, which is their favorite and let the interaction continue beyond the DVD.

Don't just take my word for it, check out what Baby's Einstein is saying about Parent-Child Interaction. And if you'd like to share your own parent-child interaction tips and stories of discovery, you can post them at BabyEinstein.com. Your story may be chosen for their homepage news widget.

Christmas Gift: The Happy Elf DVD

I love Harry Connick, Jr., so I couldn't pass up highlighting this cute Christmas DVD, "The Happy Elf".

Harry Connick Jr.'s original song "The Happy Elf" inspired this cheerful, animated Christmas special. He provides the voice of a narrator straightening out a couple of misguided kids who think they've got Santa fooled about their naughty-or-nice status. I guess you'll just have to watch the DVD to see how it turns out.

"The Happy Elf" is listed online at Target for $12.99, but my Target catalog had it priced at $9.99, so maybe it's priced differently in stores.

Baby Einstein Fights Back

Remember the recent news about popular baby videos possibly hindering development? Well, that got the Baby Einstein people good and pissed. Now they want a retraction from the University of Washington, the school that put out the controversial press release.

Video: Sleepy Baby

This video is quietly hilarious. The sleepy baby's brother is oblivious to the fact that the kid is trying to nod off next to him.

Masche Sextuplets Update

A couple of weeks ago we wrote about the two sets of sextuplets born within 10 hours of each other. Jenny Masche, the mother of one set of sextuplets, had heart failure shortly after the births because of the huge volume of blood she was carrying in her body while pregnant. This morning The Today Show updated her condition and checked in on the healthy babies.

Sextuplets...twice

A 24-year-old woman in Minneapolis (four boys, two girls) and a 32-year-old woman in Phoenix (three boys, three girls) gave birth to sextuplets within 10 hours of each other. All six babies in Minneapolis are in critical condition and the mother in Phoenix suffered heart failure. She is recovering in an intensive care unit.

The Arizona sextuplets were featured this morning on the Today Show. Click here to check out the video.

Video: Manager Goes Crazy

This video has absolutely nothing to do with Babies, blogs or addicts, but it's hilarious. Mississippi Braves manager Phillip Wellman, a man known for his on-field theatrics over the years, had enough of the umpiring Saturday night and went into full-blown entertainment mode. The highlight: Wellman getting down on his chest, crawling to the pitcher's mound and tossing a resin bag at the home plate umpire as if it were a grenade.
