Pregnancy Ticker: BabyNamey

Baby Names - BabyNamey.com Name Badge Ticker

This trendy pregnancy ticker is from BabyNamey.com. At first glance, I thought their tickers were just okay, then I came across this one. Finally a pregnancy ticker for the modern mom! It reminds me a lot of those trendy baby shower invitations. This ticker is shown here with a blue background, but it's also available in pink, green or gold.

Check out the rest of the tickers/widgets we've featured on BBA.

Website Spotlight: Baby Names Country

Baby Names Country is a site dedicated to baby names and their meanings and origins.

I thought it was fun to play with the Baby Names Advisor in the right column. I put in my name and my husband's and it recommended Triston for a boy and Brynn for a girl. I also put in my parents' names and it recommended Regina. I'm glad my parents went with Jennifer instead. I feel a lot more like a Jennifer than a Regina.

As you are looking through the list, you can even add names to your personal favorite names list and then print it out to help you to make a decision before the baby arrives. The printed list would be great to add to your baby's memory book, so they can look back one day (and probably laugh) at some of the other names you considered for them.

Presidential Baby Names

We've linked a few times to The Poop, The San Francisco Chronicle's Baby Blog, because they have some great content for us Baby Blog Addicts.

Here's a great post they did about Presidential Baby Names. Check out the comments that the post generated too. My personal favorite was, "Jack (JFK) is kinda cool"...I'd have to agree! You might get some ideas of your own if you are searching for a baby name.

Baby Name Etiquette

Coveting another couple's baby name is a fairly common occurrence for new parents. Either that, or we're just bad people. Check out The Poop for the rest of the story including a reference to the "Seinfeld" episode where George announces that he wants to someday name his son "Seven."

Cafe Press: Your Baby's Name in Print

Cafe Press offers custom items for almost anything imaginable. Go to cafepress.com and search your child's name to see what's available.

How about these cute designs for Emma and Gavin. There are so many designs to choose from and each design can be put on so many different things - shirts, bibs, bags and even wall clocks.

You can even take the customization a step farther by choosing a blank canvas and creating your own custom products with your own photos or images. And there's no minimum order, so you can get just one if you want.

The options are endless - custom Halloween or Christmas shirts, nursery decor, gifts for baby showers and birthdays, custom gifts for grandparents and I'm sure you can think of many more.

Naming Baby

You may love your name or hate your name, but unless you feel like filling out a lot of paperwork, there's no changing it. Naming a baby can be a frustrating task, especially if friends and family start offering their opinions.

Dillinger

That is the most pretentious baby name ever. So says Gawker. After sorting through more than 500 submissions, Dillinger pulled in 26 percent of the vote, followed by Epitome, Panache, Goldman, Palmares and Gingerly. Thankfully, we don't know any babies--or people for that matter--with those names.
