Friday Flashback: What to Pack

suitcase_set

I hate to pack. It takes me forever and I always overpack, yet I always manage to forget something important. When Jack came along, I dreaded packing even more, if that was possible. I mean, how can one little baby need so much stuff for an overnight trip! Since I’m a list person, I decided to type out a “What to Pack” list with one side for Jack and one for me (luckily Scott packs his own suitcase). I kept the list in Jack’s suitcase pocket and pulled it out for each trip. I updated it occasionally to keep up with Jack’s changing needs (from bottles to sippy cups and 10-12 … [Read more...]

Friday Flashback: Nuby, The Best Sippy Cup

nuby-no-spill-spout

If you are looking for the perfect sippy cup to transition your child off the bottle, look no further. The Nuby No-Spill™ Spout was recommended to me for my son and now I recommend it to all parents too. Nuby says it’s for babies 6 months+ (although my son didn’t make the transition until 12 months). The Nuby No-Spill™ Spout is made of soft silicone which makes the transition off the bottle much easier than going straight to a hard top sippy cup. They are reasonable at about $2 each and easy to clean with only two parts - the cup and the lid. Let us and your fellow Baby Blog … [Read more...]

Friday Flashback: Predict Your Baby’s Gender

hor_wheel

Why rely on ultrasounds when you can use a Chinese Lunar Calendar to predict your baby’s gender? Find the mother’s age at conception and the month in which conception occurred. The color of the intersecting box tells you if it will be a boy or a girl. The calendar predicted a baby boy when I was pregnant and it was right! Was it right for you? … [Read more...]

Friday Flashback: The Snack Trap

snack-trap

The “Snack Trap” is an infant feeding product (designed for toddlers/kids ages 1-5). Each cup has a unique lid with slits that allow toddlers to see and retrieve food with ease and the lid automatically closes when the toddlers remove their hand. The snack trap allows toddlers to feed themselves while helping to prevent spills when the cup is knocked, dropped, or thrown (as a result of a temper or just for fun). I bought Jack’s snack trap at Babies “R” Us and he uses it all the time - at home, the grocery, restaurants and in the jogging stroller. It makes snacking so easy. … [Read more...]

Friday Flashback: The Pee-Pee Teepee

pee-pee-teepee

I had heard about the Pee-pee Teepee when Jack was a baby and could have used it a few times, but never had one. This is such a cute shower gift for anyone having a baby boy and is likely to get a good laugh out of everyone there. Here’s the Pee-pee Teepee Poem: Changing a baby girl is not all glitz and glory; Changing a baby boy is an even bigger horror story. You hold his feet in one hand, and the diaper in the other; The whole time praying, “Please don’t pee on your mother!” … [Read more...]
